Felony-Conviction Question No Longer on State Job Applications
The Columbus Dispatch reported yesterday that Ohio is now one of the many states no longer asking whether you have been convincted of a felony on their state job applications. The idea behind removing the box is that the box may deter past offenders from seeking jobs causing employers to miss out on qualified job applicants. State employers will still be able to ask about past criminal activity in job interviews, but this will hopefully result in more reabilited past offenders getting jobs they are qualified for.
